Objectives

The EQUITABLE MEMBERS ACTION GROUP (EMAG) has been formed with the following objectives:

• To promote the interests of the Society and all its policy-holders

  The Society is a valuable asset of its members. The Action Group will seek to avoid any action that might damage the Society. The Action Group is not a pressure group for any section of policy-holders and will not advocate any action that might be at the expense of another section.

• To seek to ensure that policy-holders are allowed a fair opportunity to influence the future of the Society

  The Society belongs to its members. Members should therefore be kept as fully informed as possible and consulted about their preferences, with the benfit of disinterested advice, in good time. all options should be objectively and constructively explored. Policy-holders should not be presented with a single proposal when it is too late to do anything else. The Action Group will continue to seek to work constructively with Board of the Society so far as the Board is willing to let it do so.
